Bhubaneswar: The police on Sunday arrested a man on charges of duping a woman in the city posing himself as the news head of DD National Channel.
According to the complaint filed by Nayak Saijyoti from Bhimpur at Airport police station, the accused, Rincon Narayan introduced himself as news head of the channel. On the promise that he would get her a web channel, Nayak took Rs 97,000 from Saijyoti. But, the accused neither provided the web channel nor returned the money to the complainant.
Later, Saijyoti came to know that Narayan does not hold any post in the DD channel and filed a complaint with police.
After registering a case under Section 420 of IPC, the police arrested Narayan.
