Malkangiri: Police on Monday arrested five persons, including a fake journalist, in Malkangiri district for smuggling ganja.
Acting on a tip-off on ganja being transported in a vehicle to Jeypore in Koraput district, a team of policemen of Mudulipada police station intercepted a pick-up van and seized 1.5 tonnes of ganja worth Rs 1.5 crore.
Police later arrested five persons, including Hemant Takari, who identified himself as a journalist of a news web portal Biswabijayee News Odisha.
The arrested persons have been forwarded to the court.
