Sonepur: Five members of a family, including three women, were critically injured after miscreants hacked them with sharp weapons at a village in Sonepur district on Monday.
According to sources, the incident was the fallout of a love affair between a youth, identified as Bimbadhar Niali, and a girl at Siali village near Dunguripali. The two had eloped two months ago.
A relative of Bimbadhar told police that four members of the girl’s family barged into their house and attacked them.
While one of the attackers was caught by locals, police have launched a search to nab the other three.
Meanwhile, the five injured — Sata Niali, Sai Niali, Rohit Niali, Himadri Niali and Apsara Sandha — are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dunguripali.
