Family Photos Go Viral On Social Media, Complaint Lodged

Bhubaneswar: With the rise in incidents of viral images and video clips containing obscenity, a similar incident has come to the fore after a police complaint was lodged by a person alleging that his family photographs are doing rounds on some websites.

According to a complaint lodged by one BK Rana at Khandagiri police station on Monday, some of his family photographs featuring his father and sister were used by some news websites.

Rana also submitted the links of the concerned websites which have published a story along with the images. One of the websites has also carried a photograph featuring Rana’s father and sister along with the image of a staircase with the headline ‘Daughter pushes father down the stairs to save her lover’.

Another website also carried a story with a headline ‘Daughter pushes father down the stairs to save her boyfriend’.

However, the police have asked the complainant to lodge a written complaint with the cyber crime police station in Cuttack for a thorough inquiry into the matter.
