Mumbai: Vice-captain of Indian women cricket team, Smriti Mandhana, shared her first social media post on Friday, 12 days after her wedding with music composer beau, Palash Muchhal, was postponed.
Even as fans were thrilled to see Smriti’s first post after the health scare in her family with her father having to be hospitalised, they also noticed the missing engagement ring on the vice-captain’s finger.
Sharing a video in paid partnership with the toothpaste brand Colgate, Smriti spoke about her career and fans were happy to see her smiling in the video.
Under the post, a fan commented, “Why it feels like she is sad, she is smiling but her voice and her eyes looks she is sad and she is not wearing her engagement ring.”
Sharing the video on X (formerly Twitter), another wrote, “The smile is back (evil eye, puppy eyes and heart emojis) (and the ring is gone).”
However, a section of users wondered if the video was shot before her engagement.
“Look at her hands there’s no mehendi colour on them, which means this was before the engagement,” reasoned one fan.
Another wrote, “Are ye shadi k pahle hi shoot hua h i think proposal k pahle bhi jab ye mumbai me hi thi (This could’ve been shot before he even proposed).”
Smriti and Palash were set to tie the knot on November 23 in Maharashtra’s Sangli.
However, the wedding was abruptly called off after Smriti’s father suffered heart-attack-like symptoms and was rushed to the hospital.
Following this, Palash was also hospitalised apparently due to stress.
After the postponement of the wedding, rumours started doing the rounds that Palash cheated on Smriti with a choreographer they had hired for their wedding dance.
