Farmer Dead, Three Students Injured In Lightning Strikes In Odisha

Balasore/Jagatsinghpur: A farmer was killed while three students suffered grievous injuries in separate incidents of lightning strikes in Balasore and Jagatsinghpur districts on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Mithun Boita, a resident of Oupada village in Balasore district.

He was working in an agricultural field near the village when the mishap took place.

Similarly, three college students, including two girls, were grievously injured after being struck by lightning near Raghunathpur in Jagatsinghpur district.

The trio are students of Bundaban Chandra (Junior) College, Radhua, at Raghunathpur. They were rescued by locals and rushed to the district headquarters hospital for treatment.
