Farmer Electrocuted To Death In Ganjam Village

Berhampur: A farmer was electrocuted to death after coming in contact with a live wire at Motajhari village in Ganjam district on Saturday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Gadei Gaud.

Irked over the incident, a group of irate villagers staged a dharna with the body demanding adequate compensation for the family of the deceased and strict action against the culprits.

According to villagers, the incident happened when Gaud, who was going to his farm land, stepped on a high- tension electric wire laid by suspected poachers to hunt wild boar.

Receiving information regarding the mishap, police reached the spot and started inquiry.
