Farmer Electrocuted In Sundargarh, Locals Ransack Electricity Office

Sundargarh: Angry villagers ransacked the Bonai electricity office in Sundergarh district on Friday after a farmer was electrocuted when he came in contact with a live wire.

Sources said the deceased, Shyamsundar, was ploughing his field at Sanagogua village when his plough touched a live wire lying on the ground. Shyamsundar was killed on the spot.

The villagers accused the electricity department of negligence and ransacked the Bonani office. The agitators also demanded immediate compensation for the deceased’s kin.

Later, police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
