Farmer Ends Life Due To Crop Failure In Sundargarh

Rourkela: A farmer ended his life by consuming poison in his house at Nialipali village under Bhasma police limits in Sundargarh district on Monday.

The deceased identified as Purna Chandra Seth had been suffering from depression ever since he suffered crop loss this monsoon.

According to available information, Seth went on a round of his farm land this morning and later committed suicide in his house.

Seth had cultivated crops on eight acres of agricultural land and might have taken the extreme step after getting frustrated with crop failure and repayment of loan amount that he had borrowed from money lenders, a villager said.
