New Delhi: The farmers’ protest has been suspended for two days after a protester died of head injury on Wednesday evening.
Shubh Karan Singh, a 23-year-old from Punjab’s Bathinda, died at Haryana’s Khanauri border where protesting farmers clashed with police in the evening.
Haryana Police dropped teargas shells at Shambhu and Khanauri borders.
Farmers’ leaders will review the situation and announce the next course of agitation on Friday evening, reported The Indian Express.
Meanwhile, Haryana BKU (Chaduni) urged farmers to block roads in Haryana for two hours on Thursday to protest the farmer’s death/
BKU (Chaduni) chief Gurnam Singh Chaduni has called farmers to block one or two roads in each of the districts in Haryana from 12 noon to 2 pm.
