Berhampur: More than 1,000 farmers on Thursday staged a demonstration and resorted to rasta roko at Digapahandi protesting scarcity in supply of fertilizer.
They demonstrated in front of the office of ‘Chasi Seva Samabaya Samiti’ and staged rasta roko on Digapahandi-Berhampur state highway for two hours. They withdrew the agitation after tehsildar Aditya Kumar Swain assured them of adequate supply of fertilizers from Friday.
He said 225 urea bags are now in stock and another 225 bags would reach on Friday.
