New Delhi: Since its worldwide release on July 30, ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ has been running to packed houses across countries.
Peter Parker, played by Tom Holland, and MJ, portrayed by Zendaya, have been enthralling crowds of all ages who have always loved Spider-Man, a popular comic book superhero who fights crime through his secret identity of Peter Parker, an ordinary person.
The craze was similar in a theatre in Colombia on Sunday when a bizarre ‘event’ ruined the film’s screening.
One of the audience members had an extreme fart attack at Cine Colombia multiplex inside the Plaza Bocagrande shopping centre in Cartagena.
The movie, with a running time of 2 hours and 25 minutes, was roughly halfway through when the auditorium was filled with a strong, stinking odour. It was so bad that moviegoers started leaving their seats and rushed towards the exit.
Hundreds of ‘Super-Man’ lovers were seen evacuating into the hallway, complaining of the all-pervading foul smell. Thankfully, no one was injured in the rush.
The screening was not cancelled even as viewers asked theatre staff to find a remedy.
One person attired in a Super-Man outfit was seen making a call in the area outside the auditorium.
Can’t decide what is funnier.

Very few managed to return to the auditorium and finish the film, according to a report in New York Post.
The ‘culprit’ has not been identified, but according to reports it was either someone who didn’t make it to the bathroom in time or a prankster who detonated a stink bomb.
As a video clip of moviegoers gathered outside the theatre went viral, social media users poked fun at the absurdity of the situation.
“Can’t decide what is funnier. A rancid fart cleared out a theatre showing for the new Spider-Man film. Or a jacked cosplaying guy in a Spider-Man suit was immediately on his phone getting to the bottom of the situation,” expressed one user.
“Spider-Man: Brand New Smell,” joked one person.
“Green Goblin wishes he had this kind of chemical warfare,” quipped another person.
‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ delivered one of the biggest opening weekends ever recorded, with collections being $927 million in worldwide ticket sales.
