Apart from toll charges, the RFID-based FASTags are also being used for parking fee collection. Implemented on a trial basis at Hyderabad airport, the same is likely to be replicated at malls and other airports starting with Delhi.
Currently, only ICICI bank tags are being used at Hyderabad airport.
SBI, Axis, HDFC and IDFC banks are reportedly in talks with airports and malls in Mumbai, Bengaluru to switch to FASTags.
