Bengaluru: The father and brother of a 24-year-old woman chopped off the lady’s fingers after she decided to marry against the wish of the family in Chamarajnagar district of Karnataka.
The girl Dhanalakshmi and Satya (28) — from PG Palya village of Hanur taluk in Chamarajnagar district — were in a relationship for two years. The duo apparently planned to tie the knot after taking Dhanakshmi’s parents’ approval. However, her parents refused to endorse the relationship.
But the couple decided to get hitched anyway and fixed December 7 as the date for their wedding, according to The Times of India
.Dhanalakshmi’s father Shivaswamy and brother Mahendra bumped into her near a medical store which was followed by an argument on Saturday. In a fit of rage, Shivaswamy and Mahendra caught hold of Dhanalakshmi and chopped off her fingers.
