Bhubaneswar: Amid all the gloom following the COVID-19 pandemic and Odisha reporting its second positive case, here is a bit of good news: the father of the first confirmed patient admitted at Capital Hospital here has tested negative for coronavirus.
“Testing of the patient’s sister is not required going by the guidelines,” state ditector, medical education and training, Dr C B K Mohanty.
On March 16, the government confirmed the first coronavirus-affected patient in Odisha. The patient, in his thirties, is reported to be stable. He is believed to have contacted the disease in Italy, from where he returned on March 6. He subsequently came to Bhubaneswar from New Delhi by train. His father took him to Capital Hospital after he complained of fever and coughing.
