Boudh: A man and his son were arrested on Monday for allegedly setting afire a patch of Mundeswar forest under Madhapur Forest Range in Odisha’s Boudh district the previous night.
The accused persons have been identified as Asana Majhi and his son Shyamaghana Majhi of Madhapur Colony Sahi in the district.
According to sources, a Forest department squad spotted fires at four places in the forest during patrolling and nabbed the duo as they tried to flee.
Matchsticks and two axes were seized from their possession.
Further investigation is underway.
