Fatima Sana Shaikh Walks Out Of Madhur Bhandarkar’s Film, Project Gets Shelved: Report

Mumbai: Actress Fatima Sana Shaikh has created a buzz by walking out of a big-banner film, which was to be directed by Madhur Bhandarkar.

“Fatima Sana Shaikh has walked out of the film that was set to be directed by Madhur Bhandarkar. The two made an appearance together at an award show earlier this year, where they planned to announce their association but it didn’t happen as was decided. The film is now shelved,” a source close to the untitled project was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

The reason for Fatima’s exit was not disclosed.

The filmmakers refused to comment on the development.

In April, reports suggested that Fatima was roped in to star in Bhandarkar’s upcoming film ‘The Wives’.

However, when the filmmaker announced the project, he mentioned Regina Cassandra, Sonali Kulkarni and Mouni Roy as the female leads in his project, leaving Fatima’s fans shocked.

Recently, a report in Hindustan Times stated that Fatima was never signed for Bhandarkar’s film.

“The shoot of the film has been wrapped up and I can’t wait to see the audience reaction. The film has come out well and will start the post production soon,” Bhandarkar was quoted as saying.

Asked about reports on Fatima’s casting, the filmmaker said, “The reports around her casting were all untrue. She never signed the film or never roped in to play one of the wives in the film.”

Fatima was recently seen in ‘Aap Jaisa Koi’ along with R Madhavan.
