Mumbai: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has suspended the FSSAI licences of five prominent Mumbai clubs, according to reports. This comes after inspections revealed that there have been serious violations of food safety and hygiene norms.
The action was taken following an inspection drive that was conducted across seven food establishments in Greater Mumbai on July 27. The FDA said licences of five establishments were suspended, one was ordered to stop operations, reported India Today. Improvement notice was served to one establishment.
The establishments that are facing licence suspension are The Cricket Club of India Ltd, RK Juhu Gymkhana, The Aparna Juhu Gymkhana, MIG Cricket Club, Bandra East, and The Willingdon Sports Club.
The FDA said several establishments were found violating provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and related regulations.
