Hyderabad: A 60-year-old man in Hyderabad jumped to his death from the third floor of his apartment building on Saturday fearing that he might have contracted COVID-19.
The deceased, identified as Vasiraju Krishna Murthy, was a resident of Ramanthapur area in Hyderabad.
According to his family, he was suffering from gastric problems and fatigue. But he was in constant fear of contracting the deadly virus.
According to reports, he went to the government-run King Koti hospital for a health checkup, but doctors told him that he was not infected with COVID-19.
However, he was not convinced. His family members then agreed to take him to Gandhi Hospital for another checkup.
On Saturday morning, while they were getting ready to take him to the hospital, he jumped from the balcony and succumbed to head injuries.
The body of the deceased has been sent for autopsy and a case of death under suspicious circumstances has been registered.
