Balangir: A girl allegedly committed suicide at Puintala in Balangir district following repeated harassment by a youth.
According to available information, the accused youth allegedly had been harassing after the girl spurned his advances.
Irked over this, the girl attempted to commit suicide by consuming a poisonous substance on Monday.
She was rushed to a local hospital by her parents for treatment. But, she died this morning while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
A complaint has been lodged at Punitala police station against the youth, who is on the run.
