Bhubaneswar: The fee for light and sound show as well as the toll amount for vehicles at Dhauli Shanti Stupa on the outskirt of Odisha capital has been hiked from this new year.
According to sources, autorickshaws will have to pay a toll fee of Rs 20 from January 5 onwards. Similarly, visitors in cars have to pay Rs 40 as a toll fee and those in SUVs will pay Rs 70. Twelve-seater vehicles have to pay a toll fee of Rs 120.
This apart, the fees for the light and sound show at the shanti stupa have been raised from Rs 25 per person to Rs 50.
Notably, fee hikes have been made in view of increasing cost in maintaining the monument and developing its surroundings.
It is pertinent to mention here that, the state government implemented various development works at the Dhauli Shanti Stupa for its golden jubilee celebration. Apart from peripheral development works, the entire structure underwent grouting, water-proofing, micro-concreting and anti-carbonation painting, among other things.
