Bhubaneswar: The 30 contestants who have qualified for the 61st Femina Miss India competition immersed themselves in traditional Odia fervour as they celebrated Odia New Year at KIIT campus on Tuesday.
The young ladies wore Odisha’s famous traditional patta silk sarees as they enjoyed authentic Odia cuisine along with the state’s traditional sweet delicacy chhena poda.
They relished the traditional Odia food and appreciated the rich culture and heritag
e of the state. The contestants also expressed their commitment to promoting Odisha’s glorious culture and traditions across the country.
Femina Miss India 2024 Nikita Porwal joined them during the celebrations.
The contestants will visit Puri, Konark Sun Temple and Chandrabhaga Beach over the next three days. They will also participate in heritage walks at Puri beach and Mukteshwar temple.
The 61st Femina Miss India event will be held on April 18 at KIIT campus, where the contestants have been staying since arriving in Bhubaneswar on April 12.
The event is being held in collaboration with the Odisha Tourism Department, with the active support of KIIT and KISS founder Dr Achyuta Samanta.
The prestigious Femina Miss India competition, being held in Odisha for the first time, is being utilised to widely promote the state’s rich cultural heritage.
