New Delhi: The Narendra Modi-led BJP government on Wednesday announced the much-awaited 4 per cent hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for central government employees and pensioners, effective July 1, 2022.
“Cabinet approves release of additional instalment of Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief @ 4% to Central Government employees and pensioners, due from 01.07.2022,” PIB tweeted.
The hike takes the DA to 38 per cent for 47.68 lakh central government employees and 68.62 lakh pensioners, bringing cheer amid rising inflation and the festive season.
The DA was hiked the last time by 3 per cent in March 2022, effective from January 1, 2022.
