Bhubaneswar: DCP (Bhubaneswar) Prateek Singh on Wednesday advised people to be cautious while shopping online during the upcoming festive season and not to fall prey to cyber frauds.
“With the festive season ahead, it’s shopping time for people. Now online shopping has become more popular among people, which are especially targeted by cyber frauds,” he said.
“Cyber frauds will try to trick you by offering lucrative schemes and rewards like increasing limit in credit cards, gift coupons, lottery, etc. Please do not believe such offers and do not click on any links or share OTP with anybody,” he added.
“If such a thing happens and you are cheated, then please call the cyber helpline number of Bhubaneswar police, 7440006709 immediately,” he added.
