Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Tuesday imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
Stating that there was an urgent need to avoid danger to human life and health posed by the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, Twin City Commissioner of Police Sudhanshu Sarangi barred movement for all non-essential activities under his jurisdiction between 7 pm to 7 am till May 17.
The decision to clamp Section 144 was taken following a directive from the Ministry of Home Affairs for strict compliance to the 7 pm-7 am curfew under appropriate provisions of law during the extended lockdown period, the order stated.
