Fight Over ‘Rash Driving’ Proves Fatal For Youth In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Laxmisagar Police have started a probe into the alleged murder of a youth that occurred on Monday night here.

The deceased, identified as Kartik Sahu, was a resident of Laxmisagar.

Following a fight over rash driving in the area close to the railway station, five youths called for him around 10 pm. They took him to a lonely spot and killed him mercilessly with sharp weapons. They then fled the spot leaving behind the profusely bleeding Kartik. He sustained multiple deep injuries in the attack, sources said.

The incident took place at Kadali Godam road in Budha Nagar area under Laxmisagar police limits.

Kartik was later rescued in a critical condition by his family members, who then rushed him to Capital hospital here. He was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after his condition deteriorated but succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

Police have visited the crime spot and questioned family members of the deceased and neighbours. The exact reason behind the crime is being investigated, police said.

The attackers reportedly belong to the same area in the city, the sources added.
