Cuttack: Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Cuttack has built a drone to strengthen India’s fight against COVID-19 by delivering vaccines to remote parts of the country.
Named the Delta 400 series, the drone has been developed in partnership with IG Drones.
“It can stay in the air for upto 3 hours… It can transport vaccine to remote areas, ITI Cuttack principal Dr Harekrushna Mohanty was quoted as saying by ANI.
Telangana was the first state in the country to seek permission from Ministry of Civil Aviation (MOCA) for use of drones for this purpose in end-April.
Last week, HLL Infra Tech Services Limited invited expression of interest for delivery of medical supplies (vaccines/drugs) by Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) or drones, at select locations in the country.
