FIH Hockey World Cup 2023: Team India Upbeat To Win Championship

Bhubaneswar: With hockey’s biggest tournament – FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup Bhubaneswar-Rourkela 2023 – knocking on the door, centre-forward Sukhjeet Singh claimed that the mood in the team was upbeat to win the championship.

The Indian Men’s Hockey Team arrived in Rourkela on December 27 and are set to open their campaign against Spain on January 13, 2022. The players are training hard at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium over to win the coveted trophy after 1975 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Sukhjeet, who will compete in his first-ever World Cup, is thankful to his teammates and Team India chief coach Graham Reid for their support and encouragement.

“I am delighted and thankful to chief coach Graham Reid who gave me this opportunity to be a part of the squad over the past year. I am excited to play not only is this the biggest stage of the sport. It is always y exciting to play hockey in front of Indian fans,” Sukhjeet said.

According to Sukhjeet, Team India captain Harmanpreet Singh will be a key player for the team. “Harmanpreet is among the best drag flickers in the world right now and we are glad that he is the captain of our team,” the young centre-forward said.
