Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday directed all department heads to complete the process of recruitment to fill up vacant posts at the earliest.
Presiding over a review meeting on the status of the recruitment process at the State Secretariat here, he directed the department authorities to expedite the process for recruitment to about 19,000 vacant posts. He also asked the authorities to send proposals for filling up of 7,500 vacant posts by June.
Besides, the chief minister also directed all departments to launch a special drive to fill up vacant posts earmarked for the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates and asked them to send proposals to this effect to recruitment agencies. The SC and SC Development department was asked to review the process of recruitment at regular intervals to ensure that the process is completed within six months.
This apart, the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) was asked to complete the process of selection of candidates, who had appeared for the Odisha Civil Service (OCS) Examination in 2017, and declare the results at the earliest.
The chief minister also directed the General Administration department to send a proposal to the OPSC to come up with an advertisement on the schedule for the OCS-2018 examination by May 31 this year.
