Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to arrive at Bhubaneswar on Tuesday on a three-day visit to Odisha. The President is slated to attend several programmes during her visit.
This will be her third visit to Odisha, her home state, after assuming the highest office in India in July 2022.
In view of the President’s visit, the Commissionerate Police has made elaborate security arrangements in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. While as many as 55 platoons of police force are being deployed, around 300 officers have been given different tasks as part of the tight security measures, police said.
Ahead of Murmu’s visit, the final rehearsal of the President’s carcade was conducted from the Biju Patnaik International Airport to Raj Bhawan in the state capital.
The President is scheduled to spend the night at Raj Bhawan on Tuesday.
Murmu will attend the valedictory ceremony of the 75th-anniversary celebrations of Orissa High Court and the 10th convocation ceremony at National Law University Odisha (NLUO) in Cuttack on July 26 as the chief guest.
On July 27, she will lay the foundation stone of the Divine Light Hose of Prajapati Brahmakumari. This apart, she will also take part in a meeting at Baliapada.
In May, the President visited her in-laws’ village Pahadpur in Mayurbhanj district, where she laid a garland at the statue of her husband late Shyam Charan Murmu. She also attended the convocation of Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanjadeo (MSCB) University, Baripada.
