Bhubaneswar: Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik on Wednesday said the AICC will announce its final list of candidates for the state very soon.
Briefing mediapersons after his arrival from New Delhi, he said the party high command had asked to give special emphasis on giving more tickets to women. “Acting on the party high command’s directive, we have started the process of selection of eligible women candidates,” he said.
Stating that the AICC Central Election Committee has finalised the names of 15 candidates for the Lok Sabha and 105 candidates for the Assembly elections, he said that for the remaining six Lok Sabha seats and 42 Assembly seats, the CEC will hold a meeting on March 16.
