Bhubaneswar: The final voter list of Odisha will be released on January 5, 2024, said chief electoral officer (CEO) Nikunja Bihari Dhal on Wednesday.

This was revealed at a meeting of representatives of all political parties convened by the CEO in Bhubaneswar. The preparation of a flawless voters’ list for General Elections in 2024 was discussed at the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Dhal said as per the direction of the Election Commission of India, the draft voter list of Odisha will be released on October 27. The lists will be available in deputy collectors’ offices of all districts and the political parties can obtain their copies from there, he added.

Dhal further said the complaints and suggestions from the voters on the draft voter lists can be filed between October 27 and December 9. The errors in the list would be rectified by December 26, he added.

As a special measure to include the voters in the age group of 18 to 19 years in the voters’ list, the Election Commission would launch a drive on November 5, 11, 19 and 25, the CEO said.
