Finally, A Complete Family: After 14 Sons, Couple Blessed With A Daughter

An American couple, who were parents to 14 sons, have been 15th time lucky as they were blessed with their first daughter three days ago.

Jay Schwandt and his wife Kateri, both 45 years old, live in a 200-acre farm in Michigan. They first became parents 28 years ago when Tyler was born.

Tyler, who is engaged to be married soon, said his parents thought they would never have a daughter, reported The Guardian.

“We are overjoyed and beyond excited to add Maggie Jayne to our family… Maggie is the greatest gift we could ever imagine in a year like this,” the proud papa told Associated Press.

Not surprisingly, the Schwandts are famous and have been featured in local and national news several times. The couple also has a live-streaming programme called ‘14 Outdoorsmen’, a name that may have to be altered now.

The Schwandts started dating when they were in high school. They were still in their teens when they got married in 1993, and before they graduated, the Jay and Kateri had three sons.

Even as their family grew rapidly, both earned advanced degrees. Jay is a lawyer and owner of a land surveying business, while Kateri holds a Masters degree in social work.
