Tata Motors has confirmed that it is going to introduce its next electric car by the end this financial year.
The new car will be focused towards private buyers, unlike the current Tigor EV, President Electric Mobility Business & Corporate Strategy, Tata Motors, Shailesh Chandra told NDTV Car and Bike.
Tata Motors recently tied up with Tata Power to set up 300 charging stations across a few cities. This is being done to ensure availability of charging infrastructure when the next car, probably a long-range EV, is introduced.
The company will also bring in a Tigor EV with more range (probably 200km) and then it will be available to private buyers. The Tigor EV currently is available only to fleet buyers and has an ARAI-rated range of 140km.
Chairman Tata Motors N Chandrasekaran had recently announced that the company will launch four electric models, including Tata Nexon and Tata Altroz EV.
He also indicated that the next Tata electric car will be either the Nexon or Altroz.
