New Delhi: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is a happy man today. Imran, who had wished to see Prime Minister Narendra Modi come back to power, congratulated him after the election trends showed BJP heading for a landslide victory.
“I congratulate Prime Minister Modi on the electoral victory of the BJP and allies. Look forward to working with him for peace, progress and prosperity in South Asia,” tweeted Imran.
In April this year, as India was preparing for the elections, Imran had expressed his wish to see the BJP-led government return back to power as it would be in a better position to hold dialogue with Pakistan.
“Perhaps if the BJP— a right-wing party — wins, some kind of settlement in Kashmir could be reached,” he had tweeted.
He had also said that a Congress-led coalition government could hesitate to take any major decision on the Kashmir issue out of the fear for the opposition BJP.
