New Delhi: BJP leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga has landed himself in trouble over his cryptic remark on ex-Prime Minister and Congress leader late Rajiv Gandhi. The district president of India Youth Congress filed an FIR against him in Chhattisgarh for using derogatory language.
The FIR has been registered against his May 11 Tweet which read, “I don’t agree with @sambitswaraj Ji, He said Rajiv Gandhi killed 3000 people. I want to say it is just an official figure, unofficial figure is more than 5000. Rajiv Gandhi is a murderer.” The Tweet instigated Youth Congress, which then got him booked him for his remarks.
The online brawl continued as Bagga re-tweeted a post by Youth Congress, which showed the FIR filed against him. In his Tweet, he made no apology over his remarks, rather, Bagga re-emphasised his earlier statement that ‘Rajiv Gandhi is a murderer’.
“Rajiv Gandhi is murderer, saying again. Do whatever you can,” his Tweet read.
Netizens swarmed in support of the BJP leader and started an online dispute with social trend #Rajiv Is A murderer.
