FIR Against UP Congress Chief Ajay Rai Over Derogatory Remarks On PM Modi

Narendra Modi, Ajay Rai

Lucknow: An FIR was registered against Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee president Ajay Rai in Mahoba for making alleged derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and disturbing public order.

The FIR, based on a complaint by advocate Neeraj Rawat, was filed at the city kotwali police station and also names 30 supporters, including outgoing UP Congress committee secretary Brijraj Ahirwar.

In his complaint, Rawat accused Rai of having made “objectionable and abusive” remarks against Modi during the gathering.

“This shows the culture of Con

gress party. Maybe that is how training is given in Congress party… I approached the police and an FIR has been registered,” Rawat told ANI.

‘Congress a den of debased elements’

BJP national spokesperson CR Kesavan said Rai’s remarks were “inexcusable and unforgivable.” Kesavan lambasting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for allegedly encouraging such behaviour by his party members.

“Under Rahul Gandhi, the Congress party has degenerated and decayed into a den of debased elements like Ajay Rai… The kind of filth, foul-mouthed remarks by Ajay Rai has made about PM Modi is inexcusable and unforgivable… One should also keep in mind that these remarks of Ajay Rai are coming in close succession to Rahul Gandhi’s shameful attack against PM Modi. This is the kind of undignified and uncultured behaviour Rahul Gandhi is encouraging… Congress and Rahul Gandhi should remember one thing that the people are watching,” Kesavan said.
