Berhampur: A fire broke out at the service centre of BSNL in Odisha’s Berhampur city on Sunday.
No injury to anyone was reported due to the fire that erupted on the premises of the BSNL service centre located in Brahmanagar area of the city, sources said.
The incident happened when a huge volume of plastic pipes, cables and other materials stocked in an open space caught fire. Fire service personnel were immediately informed about the incident.
At least two fire service teams were pressed into service to contain the blaze. They took around 45 minutes to douse the flames and prevented the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings.
While the cables were destroyed in the incident, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
