Fire At Fitness Centre In Odisha Capital, No Casualty

Bhubaneswar: A fire broke out at a fitness centre in Jagamara area of Odisha capital, causing extensive damage to equipment.

No casualty was reported due to the blaze which erupted in the gym located near Khandagiri late on Sunday night.

On being informed, fire tenders rushed to the spot and the blaze was doused after around 45 minutes of firefighting, fire service officials said.

The fitness centre owner’s son, who was trapped inside the smoke-filled building, was safely rescued by the firefighters.

While the exact reason of the fire was yet to be ascertained, it was suspected to have erupted due to an electric short circuit near the entrance of the fitness centre, sources said.

While some equipment and gadgets were gutted in the blaze, the damage to the property is yet to be ascertained, fire service officials added.
