Kendrapara: A fire broke out in the paedriatic ward of Kendrapara district headquarters hospital on Saturday.

Fortunately, there was no injury or casualty as the hospital staff responded quickly after noticing the fire. Many patients rushed out of the hospital with their babies in hand.
Though the reason behind the fire is yet to be known, it is being attributed to an electrical short circuit in the wiring at the ward.

On March 18, a similar incident was reported from Angul district where a fire broke out at the Maternity and Child Healthcare building of the district headquarters hospital owing to a blast in the stabilizer kept on the ground floor.

However, no casualty was reported as the attendants of the patients rushed them out of the hospital building.
