Bhubaneswar: A shop selling puja items was completely gutted in a fire that broke out in a market near Lingaraj Temple in Old Town area on Tuesday morning.
Two fire tenders rushed to the spot after receiving a call from the locals and managed to douse the flames after an hour-long effort.
Highly inflammable nature of some puja items such as camphor, agarbattis and match sticks fed the blaze.
Though no injury or casualty was reported, property worth lakhs of rupees was destroyed in the mishap.
An electric short might have triggered the fincident, fire officials said.
