Rourkela: A fire broke out in a computer laboratory of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela, in Sundargarh district on Saturday.
Fortunately, no injury has been reported in the mishap.
Getting a call from NIT employees, two fire tenders rushed to the spot and managed to douse the flames within 15-20 minutes.
“The fire erupted from an air-conditioner installed inside the laboratory of the institute due to an electrical short circuit. However, the situation has been brought under control now. No major damage was reported in the incident,” said fire officer Dinabandhu Mallick.
