Kantabania: A major fire broke out at OPTCL power grid in Kantabania of Dhenkanal district on Friday.
Though the exact reason is yet to be ascertained, the incident might have occured due to an explosion in the Ib thermal-Vedanta feeder due to overheating of the transformers. Though no casualty or injury was reported in the mishap, property worth around Rs 3 crore was gutted.
As many as eight fire tenders took more than two hours to completely douse the blaze.
