Sambalpur: A major fire broke out at a chemical factory near Jayantpur Square in Odisha’s Sambalpur district on Thursday, triggering panic among local residents.
As per information, the fire erupted in the morning. No one was reported to have been injured in the fire incident.
After noticing thick smoke and flames emanating from the factory, locals and authorities alerted the fire service.
On being informed, fire services personnel rushed to the spot and launched an operation to contain the blaze. The blaze was brought under control after sustained efforts.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
As soon as the fire was detected, all workers present inside the factory were evacuated. All workers and employees of the plant are stated to be safe. There was no report of injury to anyone, sources said
Locals expressed concern over the fire mishap as similar incidents have reportedly occurred at the same factory three times in the past.
