Paradip: A major fire broke out in the building of Punjab and Sind Bank, Paradip Garh branch, on Saturday.
Though no casualty was reported in the mishap since the bank was closed for second Saturday, properties worth of lakhs of rupees were reportedly gutted.
According to sources, locals spotted smoke billowing out of the building at around 4 pm.
On being informed, four fire tenders, one from Paradip Port, two from Kujang and one from Paradip refinery, reached the spot and managed to douse the flames in an hour.
Four personal computers, four ACs and 32 inverters were reportedly damaged in the fire.
Though the exact reason behind the mishap is yet to be ascertained, a short circuit is suspected to have caused the fire.
