Sambalpur: A major fire broke out at the Samaleswari temple in Sambalpur district around 8.40 am on Sunday. Shops selling puja items on the premises were gutted.
However, no injuries or casualties were reported in the mishap.
Fire tenders rushed to the spot and managed to douse the flames after an hour.
Officials said the exact loss to temple property and the reason behind the incident are yet to be ascertained. It is suspected that a short circuit may have led to the blaze.
