Bhubaneswar: Three persons were safely rescued from a three-storey building, where a fire broke out on Thursday morning, near Nandan Vihar in Bhubaneswar.
According to sources, three persons, sleeping on the first floor of the private building, first saw smoke emanating from AC around 6 am. They immediately informed the Fire Service personnel. Those trapped, including a woman and a child, were brought out of the balcony on the first floor of the house with the help of a ladder. The two Fire Service teams, comprising 13 personnel, also doused the flames in a couple of hours.
The rescued persons initially complained of some respiratory problems. Their condition is stated to be stable now, the sources added.
A short circuit is suspected to have caused the fire.
