Fire Breaks Out In Apartment Near Patia Chhak In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A massive fire broke out on the eighth floor of an apartment building near Patia Chhak in Bhubaneswar in the early hours of Thursday.

One being informed, fire tenders reached the spot and doused the flames after a hour-long effort.

According to sources, the residents of the apartment were also temporarily evacuated to avoid any untoward incident. The fire fighters then broke into the affected flat to control the blaze as thick smoke engulfed the entire building.

While residents suspected an AC blast due to gas leak could have caused the fire, Fire Service official attributed it to a possible short circuit in the battery of inverter. The extent of damage in the mishap is yet to be ascertained.
