Bhubaneswar: At least 25 fruit shops were gutted in a major fire near the Kalpana Square over-bridge in Bhubaneswar on Thursday night.
According to reports, the blaze occurred when fruit vendors in Maa Tarini Vending Zone were on their way back home around midnight. They noticed fire billowing out of a fruit shop and immediately informed the Fire Brigade.
Two fire engines rushed to the spot and doused the flame within half an hour.
Fire Brigade personnel told the media that the fire broke out due to a short circuit.
