Rourkela: A major fire in a gunny bag manufacturing unit near Indoor English Medium School in Steel City has reduced raw material to ashes. The workers, however, are safe.
As per reports, the fire broke out around 4.30 pm and was first noticed by some workers engaged inside the unit.
The workers immediate swung into action and attempted to bring the blaze under control by pouring water.
Fire services personnel were informed and fire tenders rushed to the spot and were engaged in extinguishing the blaze.
Till the report last came in, four fire tenders were engaged in the dousing the flames.
